Acer 317 Chromebook – 17.3″ Intel Celeron N4500 1.1GHz 4GB RAM 64GB ChromeOS

I took the opportunity to save a few hundred dollars buying from the States and importing to New Zealand, dispite having to pay NZ GST tax and courier fees on top, it was still a bargain and only took 3 weeks to arrive! It’s the first time I’ve owned a chromebook and it has turned out to be perfect for what I wanted it for, a net browser, and media player to be used like a modern 17inch portable TV around the house. But with its ability to run Android apps it is so much more. It effectively replaces a PC at 1/4 the price, and has a better screen. There will still be a small number of things I will still need a PC for, but for day to day stuff it’s perfect.

I love the Acer laptop but I did not realize this model did not have a lighted keyboard. I miss that feature, but this is a great product overall, time and time again. I love some aspects of CHROME but in the end it is still not supported by some features I like. I am told CHrome works more like our cell phones and WINDOWS works like a computer.

I bought this for watching movies and surfing the web, and this Chromebook is PERFECT! The screen is HUGE, the battery life is excellent, and I love the fact that the Chromebook does not need to boot up. Just open the screen and this baby is ready to go!

I love chromebooks. This one was great. Until the return window ended, then it started not waking up/not turning on. Wasn’t so bad, just took a little opening and closing the lid till it would wake up. Just randomly won’t wake up.

Now it won’t wake up at all a couple months later. Trash.

No it’s not because of the AUE date.

I love my chrome book. Tried windiows 10 but too confusing for me. If you are elderly like me get a chrome boopk. Much simpler to use.

Best computer I’ve ever had

Lasted 3 months and when I contacted acer, I learned that my chromebook was already over a year old.

Be aware that this chrome book doesn’t have an HDMI port. I have to buy a dongle to convert USB to HDMI. Otherwise, this is a great computer.
